Overview

The Confrontation at
Sun Jin Station
opens with Forza already inside the station in full

secured across his back in a wrapped sheath. The scene does not build toward arrival; it begins in the aftermath of travel, with intent already locked in and the confrontation already inevitable.
Kiara Quall appears “cleaner” than before—more controlled, more coherent—but the
Shard of Jethro
Shard of Jethro
is still riding her decisions. Shiinx is present as a prisoner without a cell: unconfined, but not free, carrying the same dark, conditioned affect that has infected the station guards. Kiara casually confirms what the station has become in Forza’s absence: over the week he has been gone, she has already ambushed and killed a Sun Jin Empire recovery expedition that came to check the site, turning the station into a sealed pocket where the normal rules of consequence no longer apply.

What happens

Forza tries, one last time, to reroute Kiara’s old temptation. Where she once offered “think how powerful we can be together,” he attempts to flip it into “think how much good we can do together,” and he openly acknowledges that he brought the Rainru. Kiara shuts the appeal down immediately. Through
Jethro

, she already knows what happened on
Eveny
Eveny
; through that same conduit, she frames Forza as a pawn used to locate the Rainru, and claims that what
Flarion

will do with it will usher in a new “end of the universe.” The moral wedge Forza attempts next is narrower and sharper: forgiveness. He argues that despite
Caisteal

—despite being used as a mole in the hunt for the Rainru—others forgave him, and he has finally learned to forgive himself. Then he asks Kiara what she needs to forgive herself for. The name
Danje

lands. It does not resolve her—but it interrupts her certainty long enough for a crack to show.
They cannot get anywhere with talk, and the fight begins.
At first, it is armor and technique against brute dominance. Kiara still hits like an inevitability, but Forza can finally contest her pace with speed and layered tactics, leaning on the Gotanenks Spinal-System and its returning, mind-linked “bits.” Kiara keeps pressing a single demand: bring the
Bloodtiger
Bloodtiger
out. She accuses Forza of using the armor as a crutch to avoid the truth of the Shard of Jethro inside him. Forza refuses and fights with everything else—twin blades, gadgets, throwing knives, and the Spinal-System—until Kiara dismantles the kit piece by piece, breaking bits, stripping weapons, deflecting or tanking non-fatal hits, and steadily disarming him.
When he runs out of options, Forza takes the Rainru in hand. The pain is immediate, and the cost is visible: a brief restoration of his arms toward their original muted-yellow fur, followed by the backlash—blood across the body, then mouth, nose, ears, and tear duct. He forces a final swing inside a window of seconds; the Rainru flies from his grip, and the returned color snaps back to red.
Kiara corners him and demands the Bloodtiger again—this time on the edge of execution. When Forza still refuses, she threatens Shiinx and screams the nightmare command: “Go back to sleep!” Forza blacks out. The narration stays in his POV as he moves through the nightmare, aware that his body is still fighting in the waking world.
Kiara expects the transformation to align him with her—to reunite Shards. Instead, dark-Forza turns on her. Whatever this state is, it prioritizes Shiinx’s survival and Kiara’s destruction over any offer of partnership. It outmaneuvers Kiara with sheer speed and wrongness: flashes of teleport-like repositioning, psychic damage, and an aggression that does not negotiate.
The collision point arrives in a grapple: the Rainru pierces both of them through the abdomen, held by Shiinx. Light breaks the room. Energy torrents from the blade into both bodies at once, and then the dark influence sheds off them simultaneously—an explosive, tangible blast of darkness slamming into the wall and leaving behind a black residue that drips, writhes, and looks alive.
Shiinx calls out in fear as the splatters slither together into one mass. Forza warns Kiara that whatever is forming is not going to wait, and she forces herself up. The mass becomes a new creature: a hybrid

The fight becomes a brief, brutal collaboration. Forza uses a still-functioning Spinal-System bit to retrieve a sword while he dashes for the other; Kiara and Forza exchange a charged glance and attack in sync. Kiara kicks a rifle toward Shiinx, who joins the fight with gunfire while they slash and dodge. For a moment it feels simple—slow, clunky attacks, easy to avoid—but nothing sticks. The creature regenerates; every gash closes; it holds at full vitality.
Forza realizes the Rainru is the only damage that matters, but he cannot hold it long enough to finish the job. He makes a choice and throws it to Kiara. She catches, charges, and the dynamic changes immediately: severed limbs vaporize instead of regrowing. Kiara goes full-commit and ends it with a decisive downward strike—driving the Rainru into the creature’s forehead from above.
They collapse as the backup generator kicks on and normal lighting returns, as if the station is trying to pretend it was never a battlefield. Shiinx keeps the rifle trained on Kiara in panic until Forza stops her. In the wreckage of adrenaline, Shiinx lands a thin shard of humor—asking if this is Kiara’s “normal look” after all. Forza believes it’s over: the Shards of Jethro are gone from both of them.
Kiara is lucid and broken. She remembers everything and collapses under the weight of it—how quickly Jethro broke her, what she did, and the shadow of Danje. She demands to know how Forza resisted when she could not; Forza admits he truly doesn’t know, only that even the highest monks and Eveny’s authorities (Bezi included) were never entirely sure. He promises they’ll find a way to fix what happened on Danje someday; Kiara can’t accept it, not yet.
Kiara tries to hand the Rainru back. Forza refuses—he cannot use it, and it feels like it was meant for her anyway. He offers to go with her to Eveny to return it and get her help. Kiara also carries one more revelation siphoned through the mind link: Flarion is her father. The knowledge does not clarify her identity; it fractures it further, pulling her into fear for

and for whatever remains of the self she thought she had.

Aftermath (the choice that matters)

After the confrontation, the story pivots from violence into strategy and trust.
Shiinx agrees there is nothing left for her on Tier and that the logical next step is to re-establish contact with
Ukatan
Ukatan
and report back through Systems Alliance channels. For Shiinx, this reads as duty and survival: a way to keep a thread of legitimacy and protection.
Forza rejects that instinct. By this point Forza is no longer operating on suspicion—Forza treats it as confirmed that Ukatan is a rogue Templar Dragon aligned with
Sun Jin Kaisara
Sun Jin Kaisara
, and therefore not safe to trust with Shiinx’s location or status. Forza’s proposed solution is extreme but clean: let Ukatan believe that Shiinx and the entire Asuya cell died in the chaos.
This is the quiet victory condition of the arc. The fight ends, but the real win is the refusal to return to the systems that already proved they will weaponize people. Shiinx’s survival is preserved not only by defeating Kiara, but by cutting Ukatan out of the information loop.
